The paper communicates a systematic approach to compliance with 6 April, 1994 revised OSHA personal protective equipment standards. OSHA's rationale for the standards is presented. Methods for hazard assessment, including the use of job-instructional Key Points Cards and surveys, equipment selection, training and certification are presented. The financial impact of the new standards is reviewed.
