The Global Landscape of OELs is Changing: How to Prepare Yourself
September 11, 2019, 4:00 PM EST
Occupational exposure limits (OELs) are a critical component of the risk assessment process and provide a quantitative benchmark to assess the need for and efficacy of exposure control strategies. OEL science continues to evolve and there are many nuances to OEL derivation and application. This webinar provides updates on current approaches to addressing some of the most challenging aspects of OEL development and use, such as addressing data poor compounds, multiple route exposures, complex mixtures, challenging biological end points, and more. In addition, major changes in strategies utilized by preeminent OEL-setting organizations in the U.S. and Europe will be presented. Finally, the presenters will offer strategies for incorporating new developments into an OEL program and preparing for potential challenges. The format will be interactive, and participants will be encouraged to take part in a series of informal quizzes.
